Job Description

The Department of Education, Government of Meghalaya, invites applications for the Chief Minister’s Leadership in Education And Development (CMLEAD) Fellowship for the 2026–27 cohort.

About the Role

CMLEAD Fellows will work alongside officials across Samagra Shiksha, DERT, and District Education Departments to support planning, coordination, and monitoring of key education initiatives.

Fellows will work at the intersection of policy and practice, supporting implementation on the ground while bringing field insights into review and decision-making processes.

The role requires regular field engagement, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to work in diverse and dynamic contexts across Meghalaya.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Implementation

  • Support planning, execution, and follow-up of state and district initiatives.
  • Assist district and state teams in tracking programme progress.
  • Help identify and address implementation gaps.

Coordination Across the System

  • Facilitate coordination between DERT, DIETs, Samagra Shiksha, and district offices.
  • Support alignment between academic planning and field implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple government stakeholders.

Data & Monitoring

  • Support data-informed decision-making processes.
  • Track programme and student learning data.
  • Identify gaps and support timely course correction.

Field Engagement

  • Conduct regular visits to schools and district offices.
  • Engage with teachers, school leaders, and officials.
  • Support practical and context-specific solutions.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Document field insights and best practices.
  • Prepare reports, notes, and implementation learnings.
  • Contribute to district and state-level review discussions.
