"Is an orthopaedic handicap. He is not able to walk normally. He used to get leg pain while walking for a long distance. He speaks less with others. ... He cannot move freely in unfamiliar place. He is slow in reading and writing. During pregnancy, his mother did not go for regular check up. His Mother did not get any sickness at the time of pregnancy. His birth was at home. Birth-cry and birth weight was normal. Albian started crawling at the age of two years, started standing at 3 and walking at 3 ½ years. He can hold any object in his hands. He can walk freely in his familiar place. His Parents used local medicines but could not be cured. He has received disability certificate with 75% locomotors disability."

"Is an speech impairment disability. After one month, the baby suffered from high fever and was taken to a neighbouring health centre. The girl is smart, calm and friendly. She can socialize well with her family and friends. ... In Receptive language: The child use only sign language and gesture and in Expressive language, she uses sign language, gesture and pointing. In Academic performance, Audrey can read words and short sentences independently, She can write independently and she knows to count from 1 up to 100. Audrey is independent in eating, drinking, brush teeth, wash face, hands, dressing undressing and can do everything on her own."

Zavier hynniewta Zavier Hynniewta, 12 yrs Male: Nature of Disability: Mental Retardation. East Khasi Hills,

"When the baby was 4 month he developed convulsion and had high fever. The family took him to Ganesh Das Hospital for treatment. As months passed by the baby was delayed in all the developmental areas. ... Skill/activity in which the child is to be trained: Functional Academics Present level of performance in the skill/activity:-Zavier can give 1 object on request. Objective= Zavier will put 1cube on number card 1, 2 cubes on number card 2,3 cube on number card 3, 4 cube on number card 4 Teacher will not move to the next step until the child has achieved the previous step. After every trial, Zavier will be given a social praise but at the end of the session, he will be rewarded with a small ball. Zavier had to be given full gestural and verbal prompt during the session. There are times in which he needs to be coaxed and cajoled to do the task"

Daniel Hynniewta Garry Daniel Hynniewta, 11 yrs Male; Nature of Disability: Intellectual Disability associated with ADHD (non verbal). Mawsynram Block,

"At the beginning of the year 2017, Garry Daniel can concentrated in an activity for 1- 2 minutes. He always tried to open the gate of the compound and run to the road, tried to catch and get inside any vehicle he saw or met when no one saw him.... The parents always locked the gate on being scared of him.if he felt like eating something or feeling hungry, he make gesture by pointing to the thing he wanted to eat. He cannot take rice from the plate. He can. He did not indicate if he wanted to defecate. The teacher worked together with the parents on toiletting and feeding. When the schools opens on february 2017, he was enrolled in the school. The first session at school, he did not cooperated, since the school situated nearby the car workshop. He ran outside the school to see the car and tried to ran to the car. All the teachers and his mother struggled for him the whole morning session. The second session at school, his mother and the teacher (BRP) present, he can concentrated upto 2 minutes in the activity. Then he ran outside the classroom and roaming around the campus. On the third session at school he can focus at the activity for 5 minutes and play with the children older than him. The children of his age and those who are younger than him scared to play with him because sometimes he beat them."

Jensiah sangma Jensiah sangma, 15 yrs Male; Nature of Disability: Multiple Disability: Resubelpara Block,

"Jensiahh Sangma’s have mild intellectual disability and speech impaired. He started walking by the age of 7-8 years. He is the eldest son and two sister. He is very weak in writing and reading, he can copied from the black board but can’t read his handwriting,... he was neglected and always fail in all subject. Because of his disability his parents did not want to send him school, so he stops schooling for two years. In 2017 with the help of school teacher Bakapada Lower primary school and Block Resource person went to meet his parents to encourage and directed his parents to send him to school. Jensiah joined the mainstream school and was placed on class 2. Block resource person have been giving him I.E.P from 2016 and visiting his house once every week for help and awareness. Gradually and slowly, with the help of I.E.P, there has been an improvement in his , speech, cognition and various social skills. We also have been providing counselling to the family members in terms of what kind of disability he has and how to co-operate and guide him in certain situations.During his 10 months in school he received special intensive speech therapy and special education. Now the child learns how to vocalised sound. The teacher were very hard working and motivated, they followed all the guidelines given by the professional."
